If the first three synoptic Gospels are correct, then Jesus inaugurated the Lord’s Supper “on the first day of Unleavened Bread, when they killed the Passover lamb” (cf. Matt. 26:17; Luke 22:1). But John’s Gospel places it “before the feast of the Passover” (13:1), which was the day before the crucifixion on which “they might eat the Passover” (18:28).
